Infant Formula Stage 2 (often called "Follow-on Formula") is specifically formulated for babies aged 6 to 12 months to complement their transition to solid foods. Unlike Stage 1, it typically contains higher levels of iron and calcium to meet the increased nutritional demands of a more active, growing infant. The protein composition also shifts to include a higher ratio of casein to whey, which digests more slowly than newborn formula to help keep older babies feeling full for longer. While Stage 1 can often be used up to a year, Stage 2 is designed to bridge the gap between a milk-only diet and the diverse nutritional needs of a weaning toddler.
